About Simply Track

Simply Track is a private period tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch, made for first periods and every cycle after. This page covers who makes it, how the articles on this site are researched, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Who makes Simply Track

Simply Track is made by Nanotech Computers (Pty) Ltd, a software company registered in South Africa (registration 2017/122030/07). The same company builds the app and publishes this website and its blog.

How our articles are researched

The blog answers the questions people ask about first periods, period products, everyday life on a period and the menstrual cycle. Every article follows the same rules.

  • The answer comes first. An article answers the question in its title before it explains, qualifies and evidences that answer.
  • Numbers carry their source. Where an article gives a figure, such as a number of hours or days, it says where the figure comes from.
  • Every article lists its sources. We prefer the NHS, NICE, the Society for Endocrinology and peer-reviewed research over other websites. The articles currently cite sources including the NHS, NHS inform, NICE, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and research published in medical journals.
  • Each article says when to get help. Articles close with what to do next, including when it is worth seeing a GP.
  • Dates are shown. Every article shows when it was published and, once it has been revised, when it was last updated.

Articles are written in UK English and translated into Afrikaans, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese. A translation keeps every figure, range and source of the English original.

The articles are general information, not medical advice, and every article says so. If something about your cycle worries you, speak to a GP.

How the app treats your data

Simply Track has no account and shows no ads. Your cycle data stays on your device, with optional sync to your own private iCloud, and the app contains no analytics or tracking code. Predictions are estimates, and never a form of contraception. This website is separate from the app: it uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic, and you can decline that in the banner on your first visit. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

Corrections and contact

If you spot a mistake in an article, a figure that looks wrong or a source that no longer says what we quote, email support@nanotech-computers.com. Help with the app itself is on the support page.
